Gyroscan project completed

We are pleased to announce the completion of the GyroScan project carried out as part of the 2nd BIOSTRATEG competition “Natural environment, agriculture and forestry”.

The aim of the project was to develop a remote sensing, comprehensive method (DSS – Decision Support System) for determining the needs of irrigation, fertilization and chemical control treatments in the context of the requirements and goals of precision agriculture.

The results of this project complement the tasks carried out under the Advances Sustainable Agriculture Production (ASAP) project financed by the European Space Agency. Test fields of wheat and corn were located in the Lublin region and the Opole Voivodeship, while the meadows were located in the middle section of the Wieprz River. The data acquisition systems were based on the analysis of the hyperspectral spectrum of plant cover and soil and the analysis of carbon dioxide and methane in the domain of CRDS optical spectroscopy from the deck of an ultralight aircraft – a gyroplane.
